Welcome to Troop 3143

At Troop 3143, we create leaders. Our troop provides a program for young people that build character, train them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

We are very active in the outdoors and in the community. We camp monthly, including a full week of summer camp and some of the older scouts will have the opportunity to backpack for two weeks in New Mexico. Our camps are filled with fun and activities including rafting, skiing, hiking are a few to name.

Orienteering Campout - Drivers Needed

Posted on Sep 4 2023 - 8:30pm

Hello Parents:  Mr. Rifkin will be out of town for this campout, so we will NOT be taking our trailer on this campout.  We have 16 scouts and only 2 adults staying, so we will need another 4 drivers, both ways, to get everyone and everything to and from camp.  Please let Mr. Price know ASAP if you are able to drive and which day(s):  Friday evening and/or Sunday morning.  Thank you for your help.

Orienteering Campout Information

Posted on Sep 4 2023 - 8:26pm

We will be meeting on Friday, September 8th, 5:30 PM at the trailer to depart for our Orienteering Campout.  This will be a fun event for everyone!  Please come prepared for some friendly competition and see which team can score the most points.  In addition to the regular camping gear needed, the following will be needed for the orienteering course:  hiking boots or sturdy footwear (no flip-flops, crocs, etc), long pants (lightweight, like the scout pants), a day-pack, water bottles, a watch or stopwatch (per team), and something to write with (per team), compass (one or two per team, phones CANNOT be used for the course), a hat, insect repellent, and sunscreen.  Also, we will be staying in the adventure camp tents and will have access to the bathhouse, so you may want to pack some shower gear as well.  Please let Mr. Price know if you have any questions or concerns.
